Welcome, Builders
Hey — I’m glad you're here.
If you're new (and a lot of you are — we had a big week of signups), welcome to Fuel + Focus. Every week, in my focus on using AI in the marketing workd, I share one idea to fuel your thinking and one tactical move to sharpen your focus.
No fluff. Just signal.
Quick intro: I'm Brian. I've spent 15 years building marketing systems for brands — and now I’m going deep on AI, automation, and what it means to build in public. This newsletter is where I think out loud.
For the veterans: thanks for sticking around. Let's get into it.
🔥 FUEL: Luck = Doing x Telling
You know the equation for luck surface area?
L = D x T
Luck equals Doing times Telling.
Here's what most builders miss: it's multiplication, not addition.
If your Telling = 0, your Luck = 0.
Doesn't matter how much you build.
In 2015, building was hard and launching was easy. Product Hunt, Reddit, Hacker News — you shipped, you got seen.
In 2026, it's completely flipped.
Building is trivial now. AI handles that. You can spin up an app, a landing page, a whole product in a weekend. The barrier to creation has collapsed.
But getting noticed? That's the hard part.
The strongest solo companies now behave like media businesses first, product businesses second.
Think about that for a second. The product isn't the moat anymore. The audience is.
Every person who knows what you're working on expands your luck surface area. Every post, every share, every conversation about your work — it all compounds.
Most builders are invisible. Not because their work isn't good. But because they never tell anyone it exists.
They're optimizing the wrong variable.
The bottleneck isn't your ability to build. It's your willingness to be seen.
Distribution is the moat in 2026 and beyond.
🎯 FOCUS: The 3-Post Daily System
Here's Dickie Bush's framework for maximum visibility with minimum content debt:
Morning (8-10am): Long-form value post
Your expertise, frameworks, insights
300-500 words, or a carousel/thread
This builds authority
Midday (12-2pm): Quote tweet something relevant
Add your take to trending conversations
Tag the original author
This borrows reach
Evening (4-6pm): Standalone viral play
Contrarian take, story, or pattern interrupt
Designed for shares, not depth
This captures attention
The multiplier that makes it work: Respond to the first 3-5 comments within 30 minutes on each post.
The algorithm rewards engagement velocity. When you reply fast, the platform pushes your content harder.
This isn't about posting more. It's about architecting visibility. Morning builds. Midday borrows. Evening captures.
Pick one platform. Run this for 30 days. Watch what changes.
🔨 BUILDER'S NOTES: All Doing, Not Enough Telling
I'm starting a 90-day distribution sprint this week.
Real targets:
LinkedIn: 1,200 → 4,500
Twitter/X: 4,000 → 6,300
Newsletter: 30 → 600
I've been building in silence for many years. That’s not all bad.
But it’s good work that nobody saw.
Projects, systems, frameworks — all locked in private Notion docs and client Slack channels.
I've been all Doing, not enough Telling.
That changes now.
This newsletter is part of it. So is showing up daily on Twitter/X and LinkedIn with the 3-Post System I just shared. I'm not just writing about this stuff — I'm running the experiment in public.
The work has always been good. But if nobody knows it exists, does it matter?
Let's find out together.

Speaking of BUILDER’S Notes — I built a second brain. Then I gave it a content engine.
Over the past few weeks, I've been building two tools with my AI agent. Brian's Brain is an interactive dashboard housing everything I've learned from 107 books, 44 frameworks, 55 mentors, and 80+ founder profiles — all searchable and connected. It's my knowledge base made visual.
But knowledge without action is just trivia. So I built Content Studio on top of it — 480 playbooks that turn those insights into ready-to-use content.
Pick a playbook (say, "Jensen Huang's 5AM Work Ethic" or "The 100 Variations Testing Method"), and it gives you principles, steps, and quotes you can riff on immediately. I'm using it to generate a week's worth of posts in one sitting.
Both tools are live, both were built with AI, and both run on a $5/mo. server. The future of content isn't working harder — it's building systems that compound.

📡 SIGNAL BOOST
What I'm consuming this week:
Deep Dive
→ Greg Isenberg + Boring Marketer Podcast (58 min)
Full demo of vibe marketing in action — how AI changes what work marketers actually do
Proof of Concept
→ Alex Finn's Autonomous App Factory (@alexfinn on Twitter/X)
AI agents scan Reddit, analyze opportunities, build apps overnight. The future is here.
Mindset
→ Nat Eliason on ambition. And I can attest to this. What a time.
✅ YOUR MOVE
What's your Doing x Telling score?
If you're honest with yourself:
What are you building right now?
Who actually knows about it?
Hit reply and tell me. I'll share the most interesting responses next week (with your permission).
Let's make our work visible.
— Brian
